The Mundane world
1509 was a year of change in the mundane world. Henry VII dies in April. Henry VIII is crowned King in June. He and his bride, Catherine of Aragon, rule in a year of mourning and celebration. Mourning for the old king, and the Queen Mother, Elizabeth of York. Celebration of a new King, a Wedding, and because King Henry VIII was young and liked to party. Trade was good and there was a firm treaty with Spain, against France. There were hunts and feasts aplenty, because it’s good to be the king.
